REVIVAL is a real-time audiovisual performance exploring the danger and memory of nuclear weapons. Using the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki as its narrative framework, the performance moves through four stages: the bomb’s formation, explosion, aftermath, and an imagined reversal. The soundscape blends processed samples and deep bass tones in Max, while visuals mix filmed materials—hot glue, ink, 3D models—with generative patterns symbolizing nuclear destruction. Performed with MIDI controllers, REVIVAL creates a shifting, immersive environment that cautions against the fading memory of nuclear devastation.

“We’re entering an age with nuclear weapons but no nuclear memory.
Without fanfare, without even noticing, we may have lost a guardrail
keeping us from catastrophe.”
